I saw the primary two grudge films and only saw this because I’ve seen everything else. The movie did an excellent job of building tension, bringing the pain with scares, and therefore the directing and performances are great. The editing sometimes slacks but not by much. Overall it had been a really solid horror film without oversaturating you with an origin story or a retelling of the curse. If you’re an idiot who didn’t see the primary grudge or isn’t conversant in the concept, don’t get down the roof complaining that you simply do not know what is going on on in your reviews.

The Grudge (2020) – Storyline :

A house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death A detective investigates a murder scene that features a connection to a case that her new partner handled within the past. The killings occurred during a haunted house that passes on a ghostly curse to those that dare enter it. Soon, the curse spreads to a terminally ill woman and her husband, and another unsuspecting couple who were within the wrong place at the incorrect time.

Much like the first films, the film is told during a non-chronological order through several different storylines. the subsequent events are explained within the actual order, but this is often not the order they’re shown within the film.
