A Quiet Place: Day One 2024 Movie – Storyline :

A woman named Sam must survive an invasion in New York City by bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic sound hearing.

Sam, a terminally ill cancer patient, lives at a hospice in New York City with her service cat, Frodo. One day, Reuben, a care worker, convinces a reluctant Sam to join a group outing to Manhattan. During the trip, the group notice meteor-like objects crashing into the city, with hostile extraterrestrial creatures begining to attack people shortly afterwards. In the midst of chaos, Sam is knocked unconscious.

Sam later wakes up inside a puppet theater with Frodo and other survivors. Everyone is quiet, and she is signaled by fellow survivor Henri to avoid making any noise. Announcements from overhead military helicopters warn civilians to stay silent and hidden until rescues can be made, with the bridges leading out of the city being bombed to prevent the creatures from leaving the island. One of the survivors begins to panic, which causes Henri to accidentally kill him in the process of calming him down.

Review of A Quiet Place: Day One (2024 Movie):

It is the third installment in the A Quiet Place film series, serving as a spin-off and prequel to the first film. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff, with Djimon Hounsou reprising his role from the second film. Its plot follows a terminally ill woman during the early stages of an invasion in New York City by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing.

User Review: Was looking forward to more of the backstory on how the Aliens invaded and more of their story. Instead it just seemed to be a story about a girl finding peace before dying. She was already diagnosed with some disease prior to the event. So when it happened; she decided to do this peaceful journey in the midst of an Alien invasion. The cat was sweet; but just to many insane attempts to force it into the story over and over. Scenes that it would have either been killed or lost multiple times. Just ridiculous on that note. Have to say this was a bit misleading on the story from the trailers. Good performances and story; but not what I was looking for in this film. The Alien close ups were pretty good.
